At 1 to 2 Beaufort wind scale, the water is calm with gentle breezes. It is the safest condition for kayak fishing. Anglers can fish freely but still need to stay alert. Avoid staying too far from the shore and check wind changes regularly to prevent sudden weather shifts.
When wind reaches 3 to 4 levels, moderate winds create small waves. Beginners should stop fishing and return to shore immediately. Experienced anglers must avoid open water and stick to near-shore areas. Secure all fishing gear firmly, as strong gusts can blow rods away or unbalance the kayak. Never make sudden standing or stretching movements.
Winds above level 5 bring rough water and strong gusts. All kayak fishing must be strictly prohibited. The inflatable kayak will lose stability, face violent drifting and even capsizing. It is hard to control direction and resist wind resistance, greatly increasing the risk of falling overboard.
